What could be better than launching barnyard animals into space? Aside from sex, chocolate, and flip-phones that make that satisfying clicky sound, the answer, of course, is nothing.

In Sheep Launcher Plus, you launch your choice of animals — sheep, pig, frog, and more — into the sky. Bouncing off the sides of your screen, they soar higher and higher each time you tap them.

A host of treats awaits you on your vertical journey, including various colored stars, which boost your score (as all stars do in all video games), and powerups, such as the pillow (which saves you from the perils of falling to your doom), and the rocket (which launches you hundreds of feet up, and often into a new stratosphere).

Sheep Launcher Plus is a snappy, fast-paced game that demands your reflexes and rewards them with satisfying animal acrobatics. Within a couple dozen taps, your animal is breaking the stratosphere. A couple dozen more, and it’s in space, on its way to the moon. Careful, though — if your tap misses, it falls off the screen, and you have to start over, literally from the ground up.

The graphics and sound do exactly what they need to. The animals are cute, spritely, well-animated, and humorous. The sound is springy, bouncy, and evocative of exactly the sort of lighthearted acrobatic adventuring you’d expect from a game like this.

Sheep Launcher Plus may take you to another world, but it just might add a bounce to your day.
